“sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me.” No statement could be more false. I mean seriously, who really breaks their bones with sticks and stones these days anyways? I can tell you whoever came up with that quote probably never had a rumor spread about them. The bible has it right in Proverbs when it says, “Reckless words pierce like a sword.”An angry or false word can pack a far greater punch than any stick or stone. We don’t often realize the power we have in our words.
